Joe, Brandon, and Allan dive into the new trailers for Black Panther 2 and speculate on the role Namor will play in the upcoming MCU movies. Then it is time to admire how The Orville Season Three matured into an amazing season and show.
Allan does a shallow dive into all the media coming out over the next few months and comes up with too much stuff to cover in just an hour. Brandon provides a guiding light to follow into next year. Then, Joe and Max take us into the anime genre of space westerns complete with a new version of Trigun on the way.
Allan and Joe are joined this week by Scott J. Carroll and they start out with the K2 comet passing the earth. It was found by the Hubble Telescope and now the James Webb Space Telescope is taking over in a very big way. Scott dives in with the pros and cons of the surge of geeky fan base shows and movies now being the mainstream of entertainment. Max tackles a few philosophical questions posed by the third season of The Orville.
Allan dives into the science behind a recent raining fish incident that actually provided evidence besides the fish. Joe gets up in arms over a few recent celebrity faux pas and their possible implications. Brandon guides them all into calmer waters.
Joe, Brandon, and Allan start of the 4th if July weekend by celebrating one year on the air with News Talk 989. Then they get into just where is all the junk in space winding up. Not all of it burns up hitting the Earth’s atmosphere. Some of it is crashing into the moon. Keeping with space, the guys talk about the direction “The Orville” is taking now that they are on Hulu.
Joe, Brandon, and Allan jump directly into the the finale of Kenobi. Besides the fact the guys all want real light sabers, they all enjoyed the series and the direction that the production teams are taking the Star Wars franchises. The guys squeeze in a few minutes about The Orville and are impressed with how the show has matured and improved now that it is over at Hulu. They are in the middle of the action as they discuss Maverick, The Princess, Buzz Lightyear, and Thor: Love and Thunder. They take a short detour to Mars to talk about trash then they wrap up by enjoying the air show and chatting with one of the Commissioners, Marlon Evans, about what it takes to put on a show of this magnitude.
Joe, Brandon, and Allan broadcast live from the Italian Festival in Memphis, TN. In spite of being distracted by the cooking competition taking place all around them, they manage to talk about how the new show, Obi-Wan, is shaping up so far. All three of the guys agree that the show is doing a great job of showing us what happened after the end of the Jedi, Leia growing up, and the ongoing story of Darth Vador. After a few food breaks, they get back to discussing the new episodes of The Orville. The show looks like it is maturing to more serious storylines and more involved storytelling.
